if you forget the past...

ok to explain a little more about the last post. Was in a discussion at work about stuff that is happening now and what happened in the past. For instance, the subject had turned to medical practices. (this is where the discussion hit me that i wrote the last post) the young gentelmen said that he was glad that he lived in a time where we have better medical practices. No one disagreed with this, but when he added that we should forget the old medical stuff as it was no longer relevant to any thing, I said one word. Leaching. This is a old practice from long ago, a long, long time ago. These days they still do leaching to get the old blood out and new blood flowing in to a body part that has been attached or reatached. he proceeded to take and talk about other subjects which he ruffeled a few other peoples feathers. in the end he just said that he didn't care what others said that he was correct and no one could prove other wise.

Ah, the unshakeable assurance of the professionally ignorant
While the use of leeches to help with blood flow to reattached body parts has been shown to be effective, any medical professional who wants to discuss the balance of my humours and the need for purging isn't getting my business (which isn't to say there aren't people who wouldn't pay extra for that).

It's like the twatwaffles who say "Snow in April, what global warming?"
