Saw a picture of me...

Saw a picture of my self from 97. There is a big difference between the picture of me then and the me of now. There is a large smile on my face. I was happy then. Then i changed. I turned into some one else that i don't like very much. I'm working on things to change that, but i am not sure it will be a feasible thought.

You changed once; you will be able to change again. Indeed, you won't be able to remain the same, to not change.

Yes, both the then you and the now you are part of who you are, who you've been, and who you will be. The future you will likely be informed by and contain reflections of the Jimmy-who-was. I'm glad you've been happy -- that you've experienced being happy and remember it. May such happiness return and weave its strength throughout your core.

Question(s): What sorts of things were you happy about in '97? What brought joy then? And what sorts of things/experiences/thoughts carry happiness with them now?

For me, seeing creative things I've never seen before triggers happiness. Visual delight. Communication working well. Discovering. Learning. Seeing the full-spectrum of things -- not just the good, not just the bad, but the whole thing. Music, especially live music in my house. Not so much of that these days, but when there is, it brings memories that never leave.

I had more confidence back then. I knew who i was. these days not so much.It is this that i miss. There is still stuff that makes me happy, but some of the stuff..... I use to dance at conventions, now i am a wall flower at best. i was far from a good dancer, but i had the confidence then. I was not afraid to fail, now i don't try because i know i will fail.
